What are your areas of interest?

I work with clients in whatever areas they need, but pretty consistently include work on values, goals, beliefs, and creating a roadmap to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Well, first of all, this isn’t about me. It’s about you – and helping you take whatever next step(s) you need on your life’s journey. It’s my job to be your coach, collaborator, and champion.

I’ve always been curious, creative, and focused on possibilities. For over 30 years, I worked in government and nonprofit organizations to help individuals and organizations grow and succeed. Now, I do the same as a coach.

My personal hero’s journey is to become the best version of myself and do my part to make the world a better place. Even though we may be tackling serious challenges, we will do it with optimism, laughter, creativity, and compassion.

What do you love about working with your clients?

I love seeing people break through old thinking and beliefs that are holding them back. It's making the world a better/kinder/happier place, one person at a time!

Why do you refer clients to Focused Space?

It's instant community! Even though folks are from all over the world and working in diverse fields, being together in the rooms helps me increase my drive, accountability, and motivation.

How would you describe your unique style of working with clients?

After creating a warm, optimistic, and safe environment, I ask lots of questions. "How do you know that that is true?" "What's getting in your way?" "How does this goal relate to your core values?" "What's the first step you can take to move towards your goal?" "If you say yes to this, what are you saying no to?"

Is there a recent testimonial you'd like to share?

"When I first met with David for coaching, I felt scattered and unfocused. Within a couple of minutes, using a technique, he had me centered and dialed into our session. I had been struggling with a writing project for years that was too painful to write, and I put it on hold. David helped me discover what was blocking me and how to work through the issues so I could start again with a goal in place. He is intuitive, engaging, knows the right questions to ask, and is very personable.I am now actively engaged in writing and even have a writing mentor to help keep me on target to submit a proposal by spring!I highly recommend David for coaching! I would put 10 stars down if it would let me!"

Coaching Approach

A coach helps you find clarity, stay accountable, and achieve your goals. We do this by asking powerful questions and walking alongside you as you work to change your thinking, change your perspectives, and, ultimately, change your life.

Hypnosis, or hypnotherapy, is just a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. It’s a type of mind-body medicine. We’ve all heard the adage, “Change your thinking, change your life.” Hypnotherapy is an effective and powerful way to do that. It works well for breaking habits, easing phobias, and increasing confidence.

I’ve studied mindfulness, the enneagram, meditation, and nonviolent communication and incorporate them into my coaching.
