Diann Wingert

ADHD Business Coach & Strategist, former LCSW
What are your areas of interest?

I have a special interest in working with twice exceptional entrepreneurs (those who were identified as gifted in elementary school and later found out they also have ADHD). When this type of individual starts a business, they often struggle with setting expectations for their team, tend to overdeliver and undercharge for their services and feel overwhelmed and burned out. I developed a 12 week program called The Boss Up Breakthrough to help the 2e entrepreneur identify where they are the bottleneck in their business and implement the changes that allow them to have a sustainably profitable business without feeling exhausted and resentful.

After 20 years as a licensed psychotherapist, and my own late in life ADHD diagnosis, I decided I wanted to keep helping people, but in a different way. So many adults with ADHD start their own business, and while some of our ADHD traits are an unfair advantage, others can really get in our way.

I love helping entrepreneurial individuals craft an ADHD-friendly business that balances passion and purpose with profitability.

I'm also a practicing Buddhist, a Peloton enthusiast, and love dogs, tattoos, dark fiction and snarky humor, in no particular order.

What is a superpower folks with ADHD have?

One of my favorites is pattern recognition, which is the source of being able to connect the dots that others don't even see. It's truly a gift of our non-linear thinking and often leads to the most original and creative solutions to any problem.

Why do you recommend focused space?

Focused Space normalizes the issue most adults with ADHD have with procrastination by offering the powerful combination of accountability + community.

How would you describe your unique style of working with clients?

I have a rather unique combination of education, experience and gifts that is really well suited to partnering with the entrepreneur with ADHD traits who knows they are meant for more, but can't seem to get out of their own way. My background as a psychotherapist has given me a tremendous edge in understanding all the ways that ambitious people fall short of their goals, my experience as a four time business owner gives me the practical knowledge of what a small business owner grapples with and my lifetime of experience as an individual with ADHD means I am not only like-minded with my entrepreneurial clients, I am also like-brained. I never get tired of hearing that my clients feel truly "seen" by me and how many of them tell me "you get me, you really get me."

Is there a recent testimonial you'd like to share from a client?

This one from my client Aaron Duke, which he shared on Google Reviews:

"Diann is a fantastic coach. I had the pleasure of working with her in 2023. She helped me discover the blind spots in my business that were constantly getting in my way of achieving success. With Diann’s guidance, I could identify my limiting beliefs and reoccurring patterns. She helped me devise a plan to create a successful business with my skills and knowledge. Diann used her own experience to build rapport and give real-life examples through stories that helped me connect the dots—my time with Diann created invaluable lessons to move forward and get out of the feeling stuck."

Client Expertise

I work with neurodivergent business owners (entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, small business owners, creatives, health care professionals) of all genders and orientations.

Coaching Approach

Even though the status of my license as a Clinical Social Worker is now "inactive", my clients definitely benefit from my many years as a therapist. Your business can only reach it's full potential when you are leveraging your ADHD gifts AND have created structure, systems and supports for your ADHD struggles. I combine my experience as a psychotherapist, serial business owner, practitioner of meditation and mindfulness and my personal experience as a neurodivergent adult ( ADHD, gifted + specific learning disability) in my role as business strategist, coach and mentor.
